Barcelona coach Hansi Flick admitted his side needs to strengthen their defensive game after conceding a dramatic 90th-minute goal to Paris Saint-Germain, resulting in a 2-1 defeat in their Champions League group stage clash at the Olympic Stadium.
The decisive moment came when Achraf Hakimi broke through Barcelona’s high defensive line and delivered a precise cross for Goncalo Ramos, who finished clinically to give PSG the win. Flick acknowledged that the French champions were operating at a higher standard.
The German coach praised PSG’s philosophy, speed, and quality, noting that the French side’s young players were exceptional on the ball. “We weren’t at our best tonight, and PSG deserved the victory. But I believe in my team. Today’s match will teach us a lot for the future,” he added.
Flick also emphasized that improvement is a collective responsibility: “The whole team has to defend and attack together. When we perform at our best, we can match top European sides like PSG.”
This latest result serves as a reminder of the defensive challenges Barcelona must address if they aim to progress further in Europe’s elite competition.
